Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting internal vetting of property documents, reviewing external legal opinions, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring complete legal and regulatory compliance in property documentation, litigation processes, and contract management. The role requires in-depth knowledge of land and property laws, legal documentation standards, and compliance practices to support the organisation’s secured lending operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal vetting of property documents and review external legal opinions provided by enlisted legal counsel.
  • Arrange document genuineness verification in line with company policy and provide compliance reports on the acceptability of property/security.
  • Ensure SLA compliance for vetting, legal opinions, documentation, genuineness verification, and case initiation.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external legal counsel, and third-party agencies for document search, validation, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Prepare, draft, and review ancillary legal documents such as deeds of mortgage, IGPA, TPA, FPA, undertakings, and other property-related instruments.
  • Maintain checklists and obtain original/certified property documents as per requirement.
  • Possess strong understanding of legal frameworks including Land Laws, State Acquisition and Tenancy Act, Land Reforms Ordinance, Contract Act, and personal laws.
  • Draft and vet various corporate agreements and service-level agreements (SLAs) with third-party service providers; maintain and update legal databases.
  • Review and evaluate services rendered by third-party legal and document verification agencies.
  • Take initiatives to reduce turnaround time (TAT) in documentation and litigation processes.
  • Improve legal systems, processes, and SLAs to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate legal risks.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external legal, regulatory, and compliance policies, laws, circulars, and guidelines.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound understanding of Bangladeshi land laws and regulatory processes·       
  • Excellent drafting and vetting skills for legal agreements·       
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal documentation tools
