Jagannath University Introduces Class Monitoring Software

Jagannath University (JnU) has taken a pioneering step by becoming the first public university in Bangladesh to introduce a class monitoring software system aimed at enhancing discipline and punctuality in academic activities.

An orientation workshop on the system was held recently at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Rezaul Karim. The session was attended by deans from various faculties, departmental chairpersons, the Director of the ICT Cell, and class representatives (CRs) from each department.

The workshop featured detailed briefings on the software’s features, data entry processes, and technical functionalities. A live demonstration was conducted by Hafizur Rahman, Computer Programmer at the ICT Cell, using a projector to guide participants through the interface and tools.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rezaul Karim stated, “Jagannath University is the first public university in Bangladesh to implement class monitoring software, which is a notable achievement. We are confident that this initiative will foster greater discipline in academic operations and promote timely class attendance among students.”

He further announced that the software is expected to be fully deployed by next month, with full technical support from the university’s ICT Cell.

During the interactive session, departmental heads and CRs provided their feedback and posed questions regarding the software’s usability. The ICT Cell assured participants of continuous support to ensure seamless implementation and user adaptation.

The initiative marks a significant step towards digitising academic administration in public universities, positioning Jagannath University as a frontrunner in educational technology integration.
