Position: Assistant Manager (Supply Chain Management)
Responsibilities & Context
Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate international suppliers for required goods and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with overseas vendors.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company policies and international trade regulations.
Purchase Order Management:
- Prepare and process foreign purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Track and confirm order acknowledgment, production progress, and shipping schedules.
- Maintain records of all foreign purchases and agreements.
Import Coordination:
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs brokers for timely importation.
- Ensure all shipping and customs documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice) is complete and correct.
- Monitor and manage import duties, tariffs, and taxes as per national and international laws.
Logistics & Shipment Tracking:
- Monitor the movement of goods from supplier to warehouse or final destination.
- Coordinate with internal logistics teams to ensure smooth inbound delivery.
- Resolve shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies with urgency.
Vendor Management:
- Maintain a strong vendor base by evaluating performance (delivery time, quality, price competitiveness).
- Develop long-term supplier relationships to ensure reliability and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.
Inventory & Demand Planning Support:
- Collaborate with inventory and planning teams to align purchases with stock requirements.
- Avoid overstocking or understocking through effective forecasting and planning.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor foreign purchasing budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Analyze landed costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- 8. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Stay updated on international trade laws, import/export regulations, and currency fluctuations.
- Mitigate risks associated with international procurement, including geopolitical and supply chain risks.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Generate regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Maintain organized and auditable procurement records.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor/Honors, Masters
Job Location: Dhaka, Kushtia
Experience: At least 3 years, The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Trading or Export/Import,Electronic Equipment/Home Appliances,Supply Chain
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 25 years
- Able to work independently with tight deadline and deal with work procedure.
- Familiarity with sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, supply market analysis & networking.
- Strong leadership capabilities, multilingual capabilities, solid judgment with the ability to make good decision.
- Excellent interpersonal, written & oral communication skills.Must have knowledge in MS Office, E-Mail operation.
