Team Automorph from Bangladesh has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Gold Medal at the International Invention Expo 2025 in Indonesia for their groundbreaking project, “Rokkho-Bot”.

Held from 8 August to 11 August 2025 in Indonesia, the competition brought together more than 270 teams from around the globe, including participants from the USA, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, and many other countries, reads a press release.

In addition to their Gold Medal win, Automorph also received a Special Award from the Malaysia Innovation Invention Creativity Association, further recognising the project’s innovation and impact.

The name Rokkho-Bot is inspired by the Bengali word “Rokkha”, meaning protection or defense — a fitting identity for a robot designed to save lives and safeguard the environment in hazardous scenarios.

Built as a rugged, IoT-enabled all-terrain rover, Rokkho-Bot integrates environmental sensors for gas, temperature, and air quality detection, a 3-DOF robotic arm for the safe handling of dangerous materials, and an internal drone bay for rapid aerial deployment. With night vision, solar-assisted power, and multi-channel communication, it delivers reliable performance even in the most challenging operational environments.

“We designed Rokkho-Bot to be a deployable platform that can make the difference between life and death in high-risk environments,” said Md. Ezhar Hossain, team leader of Automorph.

Behind the creation of Rokkho-Bot are Md. Ezhar Hossain and Mirajam Munir from BRAC University, Md. Fatin Nur Nafi and Leon Ray from Dhaka Imperial College. Previously, Automorph also secured a Silver Medal at the International IoT Olympiad, cementing their reputation as a leading innovator in technology and robotics.
