The online application process for undergraduate admission at Dhaka University (DU) for the 2025–2026 academic year will begin at 12pm on 29 October and will close at 11:59pm on 16 November. Applicants will be able to download their admission test admit cards from 24 November.

These decisions were taken at a general admission committee meeting held yesterday at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of the university, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan. The information was released in a press statement by the university’s Public Relations Department in the evening.

This year, the undergraduate admission test will be conducted through five units: Arts, Law and Social Science Unit, Science Unit, Business Studies Unit, Fine Arts Unit, and the IBA Unit.

The admission test schedule for the units has been set as follows: the Arts, Law and Social Science Unit test on 13 December, the Science Unit test on 20 December 2025, the Business Studies Unit test on 6 December, the Fine Arts Unit test (General Knowledge and Drawing) on 29 November, and the IBA on 28 November.

All tests, except for the IBA, will be held from 11:00am to 12:30pm, while the IBA test will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The admission tests for the three units, excluding Fine Arts and IBA will be conducted in eight divisional cities, including Dhaka. The divisional centres are: University of Rajshahi, University of Chattogram, University of Barishal, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh/Kabi Nazrul University at Trishal, and Begum Rokeya University.

However, the Business Studies Unit test will be conducted at Dhaka University, as well as University of Rajshahi, University of Chattogram, Khulna University, and Begum Rokeya University.

The committee decided that for all units except Fine Arts, the admission test will include a 60-mark MCQ section and a 40-mark written exam. For the Fine Arts Unit, the exam will comprise a 40-mark MCQ and a 60-mark drawing test. 

The MCQ duration for Fine Arts is 30 minutes, and the drawing test is 60 minutes, while for other units, the MCQ and written exam duration is 45 minutes each. 

The total score for the admission test is 120 marks, of which 100 marks come from the test and 20 marks from the SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent results.

Applicants must have passed SSC/equivalent examinations between 2020 and 2023 and the HSC/equivalent examination in 2025.

The minimum GPA requirements (including the fourth subject) are as follows: for the Science Unit, a combined GPA of 8.0 with at least 3.5 separately in each exam; for the Arts, Law and Social Science Unit, a combined GPA of 7.5 with at least 3.0 separately; for the Business Studies Unit, a combined GPA of 7.5 with at least 3.0 separately; and for the Fine Arts Unit, a combined GPA of 6.5 with at least 3.0 separately.
