Master of Applied Criminology and Police Management | Police Staff College
Master of Applied Criminology and Police Management is designed to provide education to mid-level/senior police officers, non-police professionals and students on crime and justice with a strong emphasis on evidence-based policy and practice. This course focuses on leadership, managerial and administration issues that are being faced by the police and police organizations; methods to assess the issues in terms of their nature/cause and probable effect on the organization; and the impact of these issues on effective police service delivery. This leadership, management and policy skills will help them capable to successfully run their organizations.
Upon completion of the degree program, graduates will be better prepared to assume leadership roles and act as change agents in criminal justice institutions by contributing to the improved policy analysis, applying their insights to assess the effectiveness of criminal justice system through a rigorous research approach, and implementing their skills to identify current trends in the areas of policing, criminal justice and criminology.
Student’s eligibility: Those individuals who are from police, non-police (from cadre/non cadre, civil professions, defence, or other professions) or from foreign nationalities who meet the following criteria will be considered eligible for the admission of Master of Applied Criminology and Police Management (MACPM) at the Police Staff College Bangladesh affiliated under the National University, Bangladesh:
a) For the police officers: in the rank of ASP and above with having the minimum of 2 years of job experience in policing
b) For the non-police: they at least have to have 3 years of relevant job experience and having
• A Master / equivalent degree or
• Master degree with 3 years bachelor’s / equivalent degree or
• A 4 years Bachelor with honour’s/equivalent degree
c) Any below grade such as third division or third class at any level of the entire educational life is considered to be disqualification in the entry requirement of MACPM.
d) Foreign nationals’ eligibility will be decided on the basis of the prescribed eligibility criteria approved by the National University Bangladesh.
