WHO reopens free online courses, offering learning in over 20 languages
The World Health Organisation has reopened its free online course platform, OpenWHO.
According to Prothom Alo, the platform is now fully accessible for learners across all countries. This initiative aims to build skilled manpower to respond to rapidly changing global health conditions.
The organisation states that major changes were introduced to the platform in 2025. To increase accessibility, mandatory registration and certificate requirements have been removed. The platform now focuses mainly on providing easy access to videos, slides and other learning materials.
OpenWHO currently offers courses in more than 20 languages at basic, intermediate and advanced levels. The courses cover key areas such as managing health risks, emergency preparedness, pandemic prevention and social communication activities, along with other urgent public health topics.
