Green University hosts two-day international research conference
The international conference, entitled “Innovation and Transformation for Development (ITD 2025)”, began on 28 November at the permanent campus of Green University of Bangladesh, launching one of the country’s key academic platforms for global research exchange and sustainable development dialogue.
The two-day event brings together scholars, researchers, and experts from home and abroad to advance knowledge, innovation, and practical solutions for emerging economies.
Organised by Green University of Bangladesh for the fourth consecutive year, ITD 2025 focuses on knowledge creation, research, sustainable business, and intellectual advancement. This year’s theme is “Advancing Sustainable Business and Law: Integrating Environment, Society, and Governance in Emerging Economies”. Researchers from Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Malaysia, and India are presenting work on environmental sustainability, law, human rights, corporate governance, artificial intelligence ethics, innovation, and the future of sustainable development.
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Md Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, as chief guest, and Professor Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah, Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University, Kushtia, as special guest.
Professor Md Mohammad Shorif Uddin emphasised the importance of international collaboration, saying: “Building on the success of previous ITD conferences, ITD 2025 provides a major platform for our students and researchers to showcase their ideas and innovations. By encouraging international cooperation, this conference plays a vital role in advancing research, sustainable development, and building a knowledge-based society.”
Professor Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah underscored the need to integrate environmental, social, and governance considerations in emerging economies, noting that “the research and discussions presented here will positively influence future policies, education, and business decisions.”
Since its inception in 2021, the ITD conference has aimed to foster an intellectual generation through research and innovation. Papers from previous editions have been published in various Scopus-indexed journals, reflecting the conference’s commitment to high-quality scholarship. As in past years, awards will be presented to authors of the best selected papers.
This year, the conference received 192 domestic and international research submissions, of which 113 have been selected for presentation. Best paper awards will be conferred as part of the closing programme, continuing the tradition of recognising outstanding academic contributions.
