ULAB Sustainable Development Club (USDC), in collaboration with the Hult Prize at ULAB 2025–26, organised “Upcycling for Future: Episode 01” at Hashimukh School in Dhaka on 26 February 2026.

The initiative marks the start of a continuing series that integrates upcycling practices with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote community-level impact. The first episode focused on SDG 4 (quality education) and SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production), aiming to turn reusable waste materials into functional educational tools and learning set-ups for underprivileged children.

As part of the programme, members and executives of USDC conducted volunteer classes for Hashimukh School students, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. The session was strengthened by the presence and participation of the campus director of the Hult Prize at ULAB 2025–26, who contributed to the day’s educational and motivational activities.

The upcycled materials were formally handed over to the school to support a more resourceful and sustainable learning space. USDC said the initiative aimed to foster social responsibility, youth volunteerism and environmental awareness among university students, while contributing to accessible and quality education.

USDC and the Hult Prize at ULAB said the programme reflects how sustainability can translate into practical action. They added that they remain committed to developing long-term, impact-driven projects aligned with global development goals.
