Ruet to launch foreign language centre
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) has decided to establish a separate foreign language centre to support its academic activities.
The decision was approved at the university’s 115th emergency syndicate meeting held on Saturday at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room, according to BSS.
The meeting was chaired by Ruet Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak.
The proposed centre will be a dedicated facility for foreign language learning at the engineering university. However, the university has not yet announced which languages will be offered or when the centre will begin operations.
The syndicate meeting also discussed and approved decisions on several other matters related to the development of the university’s academic activities.
Among those present were Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Mechanical Engineering Faculty Dean Prof Dr Md Nurul Islam, Civil Engineering Faculty Dean Prof Dr Md Kamruzzaman and Director of Student Welfare Prof Dr Md Rabiul Islam Sarker.
Other attendees included ICT Cell In-Charge Prof Dr Md Samiul Habib, Planning and Development Director Prof Dr HM Rasel, Chemistry Department Professor Dr Md Abbas Ali and Acting Registrar Arif Ahmed Chowdhury, alongside other syndicate members.
