Applications Open for Access to Finance Programme

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) at BRAC University offers an exciting opportunity for renewable energy and climate-resilient businesses and entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.
The project aims to enable and accelerate these businesses by facilitating access to finance, especially for marginalized women, under the initiative titled “EmPower Phase II: Women for Climate-Resilient Societies”.
The program is funded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Women (UN Women), and the facilitation is being implemented by CED.
The project will offer:
- Loan document and loan application preparation for Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME),
- Bridging the identified gaps between MSMEs and financial institutions,
- Access to finance from financial institutions.
This program is looking for relevant enterprises, but not limited to the following areas:
- Clean energy enterprises,
- Renewable energy enterprises,
- Product manufacturing enterprises (who are using low-carbon technology),
- Waste recycling enterprises (who are generating energy),
- Digital innovation enterprises (who are promoting climate resilience enterprises).
Who can apply:
- Women-led and/or women-operated businesses,
- Women who are employed in relevant enterprises,
- Businesses that are creating community impact.
