"Next Leap: Rethink Your Career"- A landmark event successfully hosted by UNYSAB Rajshahi division

The United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) Rajshahi Division successfully organised its special career development programme, “Next Leap: Rethink Your Career,” held at the University of Rajshahi on 2 August. The event attracted over a hundred students from various universities and colleges across Rajshahi providing them with practical guidance on their career paths.
The primary objective of the program was to offer students clear and relevant insights into three important professional fields higher education abroad, government jobs and corporate careers through sessions led by experienced and knowledgeable speakers. Each speaker shared their expertise and field-specific advice with the participants.
The government job session was conducted by Shamim Al Mahmud (Lecturer at the Government Teachers Training College, Rajshahi). He discussed in detail the preparation methods for government exams, the exam structure, and the prospects within this sector.
Suman Saha (Founder and Pilot of Fly8 Inc.) an emerging EdTech startup led the session on higher education abroad. He guided students through the application process for international universities, scholarship opportunities and strategies for adapting to global educational environments.
Sharing his experience in the corporate sector, Md. Abdul Momen (Area Sales Manager at Marico) discussed the realities of corporate careers, essential skills required and how to prepare oneself to succeed in the competitive job market.
Each session concluded with a live Q&A segment where students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive immediate, personalized advice. The programme thus went beyond lectures, serving as an open platform for direct interaction and dialogue between students and speakers.
Special guests Dr Md Zohurul Anis (Associate Professor of Management Studies) and Muhammad Sajjadur Rahim (Director of the Office of International Affairs) at the University of Rajshahi, highlighted the importance of hands-on learning and exposure to today’s fast-changing job market.
Many students expressed that the programme played a crucial role in resolving their career-related uncertainties and inspired them through practical guidance. At the end of the event, certificates of participation were awarded, adding value to the academic and professional profiles of attendees.
“Next Leap: Rethink Your Career” demonstrated that UNYSAB Rajshahi Division is not just a volunteer organisation but a key catalyst in developing youth skills, leadership and future readiness.
