Global electricity generation increased 4.3% in 2024 to 31,256TWh, up from 29,963TWh in 2023 driven by electrification, industrial growth, and the rapid expansion of AI data centres. In Bangladesh, electricity generation also rose by 7.1% to 107.4 TWh in 2024 from 100.3 TWh in 2023.
