In the Gono Bishwabidyalay Central Students’ Union (Gucsu) Election, Yasin Al Mridul Dewan, a student of Bangla department, was elected vice president (VP) with 692 votes, narrowly defeating Md Abdul Majed Salafi, who secured 677 votes.

Md Raihan Khan of the veterinary and animal sciences department won the post of general secretary (GS) with 1,121 votes. His closest competitor Md Antu Dewan secured 810 votes.

The results were announced at midnight on Friday (26 September) by Election Commissioner Md Rafiqul Alam in front of the Returning Officer’s office, with other commission members present.

Samiul Hasan Shovon was elected assistant general secretary (AGS) with 1,400 votes, while Khandaker Abdul Rahim became treasurer with 1,450 votes. Faisal Ahmed was elected sports secretary with 1,477 votes, Abdullah Al Nohan won in deputy sports secretary post with 1,307 votes, Md Maruf became literary and cultural secretary with 2,394 votes, and Lisha Chakma was elected deputy literary and cultural secretary with 2,195 votes.

Other winners include Sharmin Akhter (office secretary, 1,108 votes), Md Jannatul Ferdous (publicity and publication secretary, 1,876 votes), and Md Monowar Hossain Antar (social welfare and canteen secretary, 1,149 votes).

In the faculty-level elections, Mohiul Alam Dolan won in agriculture and Md Humayun Kabir in veterinary and animal sciences. 

Four candidates — Shakil Ahmed, Md Selim Ahmed Oli, Md Mehedi Hasan, and Mintuz Akhter Mim — were elected unopposed in Arts and Social Sciences.
