Four college students from Government Azizul Haque College, Bogura, have become world champions in the World Innovation Science Olympiad, a competition that focuses on the use of digital technology in agriculture.
By participating in this event held in Indonesia, the four students from Bogura brought this prestigious honour to Bangladesh. The champions are Imam Rashid Sagar, Nure Alam Siddiqui, Kaushik Tawhid, and Sumaita Binte Habib Sneha. All of them are currently in the 11th grade.
The competition took place in Bandung, Indonesia, from 13 to 16 December.
The news was confirmed by Professor Shafi Mahmud from the Department of Management at Government Azizul Haque College, Bogura. He stated that in the final round of the competition, 45 teams from 30 countries presented innovative agricultural projects. The winning project focused on the use of drones in agriculture, specifically demonstrating how farmers can easily utilise drones to streamline their work.
By defeating their global competitors, the students have brought home the prestigious title of world champions.
