BUP Research Society successfully concluded the 4th National Research Project Contest 2025, held across three phases on 21 and 28 June, and 3 July at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The event attracted participation from over 30 universities, showcasing 153 research papers and 65 critical essays submitted by students from across the country.

The first day featured research presentations from the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies. On the second day, a workshop on research methodology and publication was conducted by Dr Selim Ahmed, professor and dean, Faculty of Business Studies, World University of Bangladesh, in partnership with Researchmate.net. The day also included presentations from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

To accommodate participants outside Dhaka, an additional online segment was held on 30 June.

The final day featured a keynote speech by Professor Dr Mustafizur Rahman, distinguished fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), who underscored the importance of youth-led research in addressing national and global challenges. He commended the BUP Research Society for building an inclusive platform and urged students to view research as a tool for meaningful contribution to national development.

In the Critical Essay Writing Competition, one winner and one runner-up were awarded. In the Research Paper Presentation segment, four submissions were named winners, with two receiving additional honours for their overall contributions.

Md Faiaz Hossain of the University of Dhaka was declared Champion in the Best Researcher category, while the runner-up position was jointly secured by Md Nazmul Hasan Shaon, Arik Ibna Munir, and Halima-Tus-Sadia from BUP.

Held under the tagline “Craft the Future with Care”, the event encouraged participants to propose innovative, data-driven solutions to contemporary issues. “The overwhelming participation and quality of work this year reflect the growing enthusiasm for research among students nationwide,” said Shihabun Sakib, president of BUP Research Society.

The contest reaffirmed BUP’s commitment to nurturing a culture of critical inquiry and academic excellence in higher education.
