BRAC University students took part in an academic session led by Dr Malay Kanti Mridha, Professor, Deputy Dean and Director of the Centre for Non-communicable Diseases and Nutrition at the James P Grant School of Public Health.
Held in a classroom setting, the session focused on innovative teaching and learning approaches in public health education. Drawing on his recent experience as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Johns Hopkins University, Dr Mridha shared global perspectives and best practices shaping contemporary academic environments.
During the discussion, he highlighted practical strategies to strengthen student engagement, encourage critical thinking and promote interdisciplinary learning, areas that are increasingly prioritised in public health education worldwide.
Students described the session as both inspiring and thought provoking, noting that it effectively connected global academic experiences with their own learning journeys. The discussion also created space for meaningful dialogue, helping participants understand how international exposure can influence local teaching and academic practices.
University officials said the initiative reflects BRAC University’s continued commitment to integrating global knowledge into its curriculum and fostering a dynamic and forward looking learning environment for students.
