Team Mongol-Tori from Brac University has qualified for the University Rover Challenge 2026 finals for the seventh consecutive year, while expanding its impact beyond competition.

Over the past year, the team has mentored students from more than 16 schools and colleges in Dhaka and Chattogram, promoting STEM education in collaboration with Meghna Group of Industries and Cytron Technologies.

The team has also built partnerships with global technology firms. In collaboration with SATEL, it achieved a 3.3 km teleoperation range. A joint effort with CompleTech led to the development of a custom antenna, with field research in Chattogram informing its design. The company is now developing a system based on the team’s codebase.

Mongol-Tori has further integrated navigation technology from SBG Systems to enhance rover precision. A long-term collaboration with myActuator is also underway to develop a robotic manipulator arm with potential industrial applications.

By combining global industry collaboration with grassroots STEM outreach, the team is demonstrating how a university robotics initiative can evolve into a platform for innovation and real-world impact.
