BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) held the prize-giving ceremony of the 4th Intra-University Indoor Games Competition 2025 on 11 December 2025 at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall.

The programme was attended by the acting vice-chancellor, treasurer, registrar, deans, heads of academic and administrative departments, faculty members, students, officers and staff.

In the student category, Shoriful Islam and Mehedi Hasan Rabby won the Table Tennis (Doubles – Boys) title, while Tamim Khan and Md Anowarul Azim Shadhin finished as runners-up. In Carrom (Doubles – Boys), Md Mamun Sikdar and Michil Roy emerged champions, followed by Md Wakiel Arafat and Md Mahadi Hasan Munna. Farhana Sultana and Tasnia Jahan Trisha secured the Carrom (Doubles – Girls) championship, with Mafruha Nahrin and Nusrat Alam Lam finishing second.

In Chess, Hasibul Hasan Abir won the boys’ title and Tasnia Jahan Trisha claimed the girls’ championship. The runners-up were Ahasanur Rahman Abir and Ummi Fatima Raya respectively.

Among faculty members and officers, Yeasin Ali and Rakibul Islam Shifat won the Table Tennis (Doubles – Male) championship, while H M Jahidul Kabir and Md Tajul Islam were runners-up. Sabbir Ahmed Abir and Md Moniruzzaman secured the Carrom (Doubles – Male) title, followed by Md Humayoun Kabir and H M Shaik Reza. In Carrom (Doubles – Female), Moni Jafar Pingki and Sultana Shamima Afrid emerged champions, with Mafuza Alam and Gesmin Ara Perveen finishing second.

In Chess (Male), G M Waesh Koroni won the championship, while Md Shahinuzzaman Shaekh was runner-up. In International Bridge (Male), Gp Capt (retd) ANM Rafiqul Alam and Aminur Rahman secured the title, followed by Sajibul Haque and Md Abul Hossain.

In the above 50 years category, Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain and Md Rafiquzzaman won the Carrom (Doubles – Male) championship, while Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan and Gp Capt (retd) ANM Rafiqul Alam finished as runners-up. In Table Tennis (Doubles – Male), Prof Dr Md Sanaullah and Md Obaidullah claimed the title, with Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan and Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain finishing second.

Organised by the BUFT Games and Sports Club, the competition began on 20 October 2025. It featured table tennis, carrom and chess for students; table tennis, carrom, chess and international bridge for faculty members and officers; and special events for participants aged above 50 years.

More than 200 students and 60 faculty members and officers participated in the competition, highlighting teamwork, enthusiasm and sporting spirit across the BUFT community.
