The BUFT International Model United Nations 2025 opened on the morning of 14 August with a dignified and inspiring ceremony at the BUFT Auditorium Hall, setting the tone for the three days that followed.

The day began at 8:45am with delegate registration at the entrance of the Multipurpose Hall, where participants confirmed their attendance and received event kits containing official ID cards and materials. By 10:00am, delegates had been guided to their seats in the auditorium as distinguished guests and dignitaries arrived in preparation for the formal proceedings.

The ceremony commenced at 11:00am with a solemn recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. A one-minute silence was then observed in honor of the martyrs of the July Revolution and the Millstone tragedy.

Invited guests were welcomed to the stage and honoured with floral bouquets before delivering their speeches in the following order:

Kafil Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director, Rashid Group – Special Guest, Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT – Chief Guest, Gp Capt. ANM Rafiqul Alam, ndc, psc (Retd.), Director of Student Welfare – Guest of Honour.

The Secretary-General then officially declared BUFTIMUN 2025 open. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the distinguished guests, and the ceremony concluded with their formal departure. Delegates proceeded to their first committee sessions, engaging in debates and discussions under that year’s theme: “Harmonizing Compassion, Diplomacy, and Solidarity in the Quest for Sustainable Peace and Comprehensive Security to Redress Global Divides.”

Day 2 featured continued committee sessions throughout the day, culminating in the much-anticipated Cultural Night. The evening showcased captivating performances, alongside BUFT’s signature fashion show, offering a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, talent, and creativity.

On Day 3, the conference concluded with its final committee sessions, followed by the Closing Ceremony. The ceremony included speeches from conference leaders, reflections on the event’s achievements, and the presentation of awards to outstanding delegates. The day ended with the prestigious Gala Night, an elegant occasion for celebration and networking, which brought BUFTIMUN 2025 to a memorable close.
