The Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) Environmental Club, in partnership with AJA Bangladesh Ltd., a leading professional certification body, successfully conducted a day-long training workshop on “ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS)” at the university campus.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Kabirul Alam, Business Head & Lead Tutor at AJA Bangladesh Ltd., an organisation recognised for its expertise in ISO standards. The training explored the integration of environmental management systems into industrial practices, with a focus on how EMS can enhance the sustainability profile of Bangladesh’s textile sector.

Designed as a highly interactive learning experience, the workshop featured case studies, group presentations, and practical exercises. Students from all undergraduate batches and MSc programs participated enthusiastically, reflecting the growing relevance of sustainability and environmental compliance in the textile industry.

The programme emphasised the real-world application of ISO 14001, equipping participants with skills applicable to careers in environmental auditing, corporate compliance, and sustainability management. This initiative serves as a bridge between academic learning and industry requirements, preparing graduates to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market.
