Chattogram Regional Programming Contest held at Comilla University

The Chattogram Regional Programming Contest was organised by the CSE Society, an affiliated body of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Comilla University (CU). Team ‘El Diablo’ from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) emerged as champion in the competition.

The contest took place on Wednesday (27 August) at CU’s CSE department. Noakhali Science and Technology University secured second place, while International Islamic University Chittagong stood third.

According to organisers, a total of 40 teams participated from 13 universities. These included 12 from Comilla University, six from Noakhali Science and Technology University, four each from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology and Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology, two each from University of Chittagong, Chandpur Science and Technology University, Rangamati Science and Technology University, International Islamic University Chittagong and CCN University of Science and Technology, and one each from BGC Trust University, Feni University, Port City International University and Hamdard University.

Md Iqbal, General Secretary of the CSE Society, said, “This year, 40 teams from 13 universities across the Chattogram region took part in our event. We organise programming contests every year to enhance students’ skills and prepare them to perform better at the national level. We plan to continue this tradition and arrange the event on an even larger scale in the future.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mahmudul Hasan, Head of the CSE Department and Associate Professor, said, “Every year we arrange the CSE Fest, which includes various indoor and outdoor sports. Alongside that, we also strive to organise an international-standard programming contest. Last year we hosted the National Programming Contest, and this year we brought together universities from the Chattogram region for the Chattogram Regional Programming Contest. We aim to organise an even larger international-level competition in the future.”
