The Urban and Regional Planning (URP) Department of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) held a “Farewell and Reception” ceremony on 10 July 2025, warmly bridging the outgoing students and the new batch. The event was honoured by the presence of CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan as the chief guest. Special guests included Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Director of the Student Welfare Department. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Debashish Roy Raja, Head of the URP Department.

The occasion not only bade farewell to the departing students but also celebrated outstanding achievements within the department. Students were recognised for their exceptional successes, including champions of the World Town Planning Day 2024 BIP Debate Competition, winners of the MIST Environment Fest 2025 GIS Case Competition, champions of CUET’s Intravig 1.0, and the second runner-up team in RUET’s Crackjack 2.0 National Business Case Competition.

The ceremony embodied the spirit of continuity and excellence, honouring tradition while inspiring the future generation of planners to build upon the legacy of their predecessors.
