The University of Dhaka witnessed a new wave of entertainment as the first-ever campus stand-up comedy show “Hashir Adda! ft. TSC” held at TSC auditorium.

The evening began with an open-mic segment, where eight randomly selected audience members took the stage to deliver their own comedic performances. The main lineup started at 7:10 pm, featuring eight stand-up artists who engaged the crowd until the show concluded at 8:50 pm. Performers included Anik Dey Antu, Poushi Razzaque, Tasdid Ashrar, Makhzum Khan Shadid, Nilima Rafi, Ashraful Haque Emu, Sharar Shayor, and Syed Ridwan Hossain Bipro.

With the auditorium packed to capacity, audience enthusiasm reflected the growing interest in this relatively underrated art form in Bangladesh.

“The main goal of this initiative was to bring the culture of stand-up comedy to the University of Dhaka,” said the organiser Anid Hassan. “Although stand-up comedy is still underappreciated in our country, it holds immense potential as a subtle and impactful form of art.”

The success of “Hashir Adda! ft. TSC” marks a milestone in campus cultural activities, raising hopes that similar events will spread across other universities and foster a stronger appreciation for stand-up comedy in Bangladesh.
