Daffodil International University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Patents Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) under the Ministry of Industries to establish a Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) on its campus.

Daffodil International University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Patents Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) under the Ministry of Industries to establish a Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) on its campus.
The signing ceremony was held at the university’s conference room, attended by Md Jahangir Hossain, Director General of DPDT, as the chief guest.
Also present were Dr Ashok Kumar Roy, Md Habibur Rahman, Dr Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr M R Kabir, Vice-Chancellor, along with faculty members and officials.
Speakers highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration in developing commercially viable patents. Officials from DPDT discussed the growing role of intellectual property in innovation and outlined the patent filing process and benefits of establishing a TISC.
Vice-Chancellor Dr M R Kabir emphasised the university’s focus on applied research and noted that patent development is a key component of innovation.
The MoU was signed by Md Jahangir Hossain on behalf of DPDT and Dr M R Kabir on behalf of the university. Under the agreement, the TISC will provide support in patent search, application procedures and intellectual property protection.
University authorities said the initiative would promote innovation among students and researchers and contribute to strengthening the country’s research and knowledge-based economy.
