The Department of Television, Film and Photography (TFP) at the University of Dhaka organised a group screening of Bonolota Express on Thursday, 2 April 2026, at Star Cineplex, Bashundhara Shopping Mall.

Around 75 participants, including students, faculty members and staff, attended the screening, which was arranged as part of a TFP Film Club initiative. The event also marked the launch of the club’s new signature programme, “A Trip to the Cinema”, inaugurated with Bonolota Express, directed by Tanim Noor and based on a novel by Humayun Ahmed.

The film features TFP final-year student Sifat Rahman in the role of Shakil, while its visual storytelling was led by TFP adjunct faculty member Barkat Hossain Polash.

According to the department, the event reflected a convergence of academic practice and the film industry, highlighting how classroom learning can extend into real-world creative engagement.
