The programme was graced by Professor Dr. Mahmood Osman Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and President of the Finance Alumni Association, who shared a written message highlighting the spirit of the festival.

“FinFest reflects learning, leadership, and collaboration—bringing together the entire Finance community under one umbrella,” he stated.

The event began with an inspiring opening speech from Ms. Farzana Lalarukh, Commissioner of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). Distinguished guests, including

Mr. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director and CEO of Community Bank, and Mr. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank, also addressed the audience, sharing valuable insights from the industry. One of the key highlights was the award ceremony for Finvestor 2025. Team Shield emerged as champions, taking home a Tk50,000 cheque and the coveted Finvestor trophy. Team FE!N secured the first runner-up position, while Alpha Return claimed the second runner-up spot. The total prize pool amounted to Tk100,000.

The formal session also featured a special tribute to the July Revolution in Bangladesh, with a documentary honouring the historic contributions of students from the Finance Department. The audience observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyred and injured. Another milestone moment was the unveiling of the department’s annual magazine, Portfolionaire, followed by the official launch of the Finance Club, which aims to foster academic-industry collaboration, innovation, and leadership among students.

The session concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. H. M. Mosarof Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Finance, and a vote of thanks from Ms. Pallabi Siddiqua, Convener of FinFest 2025.

The evening came alive with a colourful cultural programme featuring music, dance, poetry, drama, folk performances, and band shows, embodying the vibrant spirit of the Finance Community.
