Dhaka University Quiz Society (DUQS) hosted the much-anticipated “Pop Battle 2.0” on 21 August 2025. First launched in 2023, this event came alive once again at the TSC Auditorium, buzzing with participants ranging from school to university level.

Pop Battle 2.0 featured four thrilling segments:

Goblet of Quizzers (Harry Potter), Weeb Wars (Anime and Manga), Catch Me if You Can (Movies and TV Shows) and The Ultimate Pop Battle 2025. The participants included quizzers from the University of Dhaka, BUET, Dhaka Medical College, BRAC University, Notre Dame College, Holy Cross College and many other renowned institutions of the country.

The Chief Guest of the programme was the Honourable Treasurer of the University of Dhaka, Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

The Quizmasters from DUQS were Wasi Ahmed, Mohtasin Billah Emon, Mohammad Asif, Sadman Mujtaba Rafid, Arnab Roy Partha, Nayeema Binte Abdullah and Fabiha Tafannum. Ishtiaq Murshed (former VP, BUET Brainiacs) and Rafsan Zafar (former Quizzing Secretary, DRMC Science Club) were also present as Guest Quizmasters.

The partners for this mega event were Biggan Adda (Club Partner), BUET Brainiacs (Club Partner), Eventa (Ticket Partner), Mama (Snacks Partner), Kofi House (Beverage Partner), Paragon (Food Partner) and Bakeman’s Biscuits (Bakery Partner). The club also received a commemorative accolade from Tangail Zilla Quizzing Society (TZQS), as a token of co-operation and support.

All in all, Pop Battle 2.0 turned out to be a lively and competitive day that will undoubtedly add significant value to the extracurricular spectrum of the University of Dhaka.
