East West University Launches Cyber Security Club

East West University (EWU) has formally launched its Cyber Security Club (EWUCSC) in a campus ceremony aimed at fostering digital safety awareness, ethical hacking expertise, and practical cybersecurity skills among students.

The event brought together distinguished guests from academia and industry, including Sheikh Abu Ayub Azad, chief executive officer of Trustaira, and A S M Shamim Reza, founder and chief of research at The Team Phoenix, who shared insights on emerging opportunities and challenges in the fast-evolving cybersecurity sector.

Senior EWU officials, including the head of the Career Counselling Centre, faculty members, and club moderators, were in attendance, with their contributions to the club’s formation formally recognised.

Highlights of the programme included the unveiling of the club’s official logo, selected through a student design competition, and the introduction of the executive committee, who received their official badges. Guests and moderators were presented with gifts and letters of appreciation, while the event concluded with a cultural performance by EWU students. Attendees also received souvenirs and refreshments.

With the creation of EWUCSC, the university aims to provide a platform for students to build industry-relevant skills through workshops, competitions, awareness campaigns, and hands-on training initiatives.
