The bdapps Award Night 2026 was held in the capital, bringing together mobile app developers, young innovators and industry stakeholders from across the country.
Several individuals and one initiative were recognised for their contributions to Bangladesh’s digital ecosystem, while a two-month developer bootcamp was also launched.
Md Saiful Islam, a student of Northern University of Business and Technology in Khulna, received the “Campus Ambassador Champion” award for building an active campus community and promoting digital innovation.
Farah Sayeed Abdul Bari was named “She Squad Champion” for her work in advancing women’s participation in technology. Muhammad Tawseef Hossain received the “Emerging Individual Developer 2025” award, while the app “Biye Bondhu”, developed by Abu Bakar Siddique, was recognised as the “Emerging App of 2025”.
The National Android Development Bootcamp (NADB) was inaugurated at the event by Mohammad Showkat Kader Chowdhury, Head of Marketing at Robi Axiata PLC.
The two-month bootcamp will provide technical and business training, mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring developers. A dedicated website has been launched to provide further information for participants.
A panel discussion titled “Youth-led Innovation: Driving Bangladesh’s Digital Future” was also held, focusing on youth skill development and the future of the technology sector.
The discussion featured Shourov Barua, COO of Ostad; Manik Lal Das of Robi Axiata PLC; Mohammad Shahriar Khan, founder of ICT Olympiad; and Taneem Islam, co-founder and CEO of Miaki. The session was moderated by Md Altamis Nabil.
Other attendees included Shafiq Shamsur Razzaq, Fatema Nashrah and Khan Mahamuda Maliha.
