Intra NSU art and photography exhibition returns after three years
North South University has brought back its major creative showcase after a three-year pause, with the Intra NSU Art & Photography Competition & Exhibition 2025 inaugurated as a Mercantile Bank PLC–supported event. The university last held its largest arts exhibition in 2018. This year’s edition is particularly significant as it marks the return of the “sculpture” category for the first time in nine years, highlighting the expanding artistic capability of NSU’s young talents.
The five-day exhibition, open daily from 9:00am to 6:00pm, transformed the venue into a vibrant space of imagination and expression. Photography, sketches, paintings and sculptural works were displayed, featuring a diverse selection of student submissions.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Tanvir Murad Topu, Head of the Photography Department at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute; Special Guest Professor Abdul Rob Khan, Treasurer of North South University; and A K M Saleh Ahmed Anik, Faculty Advisor of the NSU Art and Photography Club. Faculty members and the club’s Executive Body were also present, reflecting the university’s commitment to nurturing creativity, artistic development and student-led cultural initiatives.

This year’s exhibition received support from Paragon Catering and Petsmart Bangladesh. Their contribution played a key role in enhancing the experience for students, guests and visitors, helping create an engaging and welcoming environment for the creative community.

The return of the exhibition has been celebrated as a revival of artistic passion at NSU. Reintroducing the sculpture category symbolises a renewed commitment to diverse forms of creative storytelling and innovation. The event reaffirmed that artistic expression continues to thrive on campus, offering students a platform to explore, challenge and present their ideas.
As the exhibition concluded, it left a lasting message: creativity grows when given space, and every artist carries a narrative worth seeing, experiencing and sharing.
