Language Chronicles, a day-long festival celebrating creativity, cultural exchange and interactive learning, was held on the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh) campus, organised by the ULAB Language Club.

The event began at 11:00am with the arrival of guests, followed by an opening ceremony featuring speeches by Advisor Al Mahmud Rumman, Special Advisor Arifa Ghani Rahman, and Chief Guest Professor Shamsad Mortuza, setting the tone for the programme.

The first competitive segment, Language FerryWheel, was held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, where students participated in an online quiz based on workshops on Korean and Japanese languages. The segment tested participants’ basic language skills, cultural awareness and comprehension.

At 1:00pm, a Wall Magazine Exhibition showcased posters created in languages other than Bangla and English. Entries were judged on creativity, thematic relevance and presentation, drawing significant attention for their visual and conceptual appeal.

Following the lunch and prayer break, the programme resumed with the Bangla Short Story Performance from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Participants presented original scripts highlighting inclusivity, cultural diversity and the emotional depth of Bangla storytelling, resonating strongly with the audience.

The most anticipated segment, the Cultural and Fictional Cosplay Showcase, took place from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Students expressed creativity through costumes, character portrayal and performance, making cosplay the highlight of the festival due to its high energy and audience engagement.

The event was supported by a wide range of partners, including Dacca Delights, Mukhe Now, Hevone Tools, Visuals, ULAB ShutterBugs, Fantasy Kingdom Complex, Bangladesh Association of Cosplayers, Kahinik Audiobook, Lavino, Interactive Cares, Scentofia, ULAB Alumni Association, AgroAcres, Jamuna TV, Cater Station by Sharmin, and Sugar Wave, among others. The Business Standard provided print and digital media coverage, while TBS Graduates supported the event as the youth engagement partner.

The festival concluded in the evening with closing speeches by the convener and deputy convener, followed by a cultural programme and a prize-giving ceremony recognising outstanding creativity and performances. The event marked a successful first edition of Language Chronicles.
