The Scholastica International Mathematics and Science Carnival 2025 concluded with distinction, celebrating academic excellence, youth-driven innovation, and global collaboration.

Organised by Scholastica’s Mathematics and Science Clubs, the two-day event engaged thousands of students from across Bangladesh and abroad.

Held in a hybrid format, the carnival launched with virtual challenges on 20 June, featuring participants from India, the US, Australia, Turkey, and beyond. Online segments included IQ Tests, Robotics and Space Olympiads, Calculus and General Science Olympiads, and creative logic-based events such as A Fraction Ahead <3 So You Think You Can Add? and Crack the Code.

The grand on-campus finale, held on 22 June at Scholastica’s Mirpur Campus, brought the same energy to life. Students moved between competitions, including the Mathematics Olympiad, Relay Race, Sudoku contest, and hands-on Project Displays. Sustainability and environmental themes dominated the exhibitions, reflecting the growing engagement of young people with climate concerns.

The highly anticipated Extempore Speech final saw participants address pressing global issues spontaneously, while the Minus 8: Team Edition finals tested team strategy and mental agility.

Chief Guest Md Shamsur Shafi Nur E Aziz, founding president of the Scholastica Science Club and lecturer at BRAC University, inspired students with a keynote on lifelong learning and the resilience to embrace failure as a catalyst for growth.

A seminar titled CODE RED, hosted by environmental partner Earth’s Ants, added depth to the carnival’s eco-focus, calling for youth-led climate action and accountability.

Over 200 students were honoured at the award ceremony, judged by academics from BRAC University. Head Organisers Md Samiu Hossain and Faiza Mahzabeen reflected on the journey: “What began as a final high school project turned into a platform of inspiration that we hope continues to grow,” said Samiu, visibly moved.

Jamuna TV, the official media partner, covered the event, amplifying its impact and highlighting the transformative role of youth in shaping Bangladesh’s academic and scientific future.

SMSC’25 reaffirmed Scholastica’s mission to develop student leadership through intellectual challenge. More than a carnival, it became a movement of minds determined to build a smarter, more sustainable world.
