Business & Mental Wellness Activation Seminar

In the rush of classes, deadlines, and mounting responsibilities, students often prioritise physical health while overlooking mental well-being. Yet, without mental peace, true physical wellness remains incomplete. To address this pressing concern, the Forum of Entrepreneurship and Business (FEB) hosted a seminar titled ‘Business & Mental Wellness Activation Seminar’ on 31 July, creating a space for students to pause, reflect, and reset.

The seminar tackled the everyday challenges faced by students and aspiring entrepreneurs—fear of failure, performance pressure, burnout, anxiety, and self-doubt. Mohammad Maqsood Malek, a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in mental health, led the session. He offered practical tools for managing stress and cultivating resilience in the face of adversity.

The discussion emphasised the healing power of laughter, kindness, and personal growth. Students were encouraged to smile more, pursue self-improvement, maintain human connections, and practise breathing techniques for emotional regulation.

Interactive exercises reinforced the seminar’s message including a butterfly hand movement for calming the mind, a smiling drill to foster joy, a balloon-popping game to reflect on lost playfulness, a tug-of-war symbolising the struggle between past and future, and a mindful chocolate-eating activity underscoring the value of presence and patience.

The event was supported by Grameen Digital Healthcare Solutions in collaboration with Shono. An awareness booth for the Shukhee App was also set up, introducing students to 24/7 access to doctor consultations, mental health resources, and daily wellness tools. Participants received pens and completed a short mental health survey as a token of reflection.

The programme concluded with closing remarks and a bouquet presentation by FEB General Secretary Md Mozammel Haque Tanvir, followed by group photographs capturing the spirit of the event.

More than just a seminar, this initiative served as a much-needed reminder that mental well-being is essential, particularly in high-pressure spaces like campuses and start-up environments.
