Hult Prize on campus 2024-25 concludes at Metropolitan University

The Grand Finale of the Hult Prize On-Campus 2024-25 at Metropolitan University, Sylhet, triumphantly took place at the Professor M Habibur Rahman Library Hall on 27 February 2025.

This year, at MU, the competition began with many teams. It was finalised to seven finalist teams after tackling prior rounds, where they submitted their ideas and vision through a 4-minute video pitch.

The theme for the 2025 HULT competition was ‘Unlimited,’ which encouraged participants to pursue their business ideas.

The competition’s final stop is the global prize money of $1,000,000.

The finalist teams were Team Bongofind, Team Bloomfairs, Team The Comic Crew, Team Nurturly, Team Social Pioneers, and Team Changemakers.

 After the heavy competition round and answering questionnaires from the panel of judges, the Change Makers emerged as the Champions. They won the university prize money of 8000 BDT and will now move to the regional round, where they will be able to compete and win the final prize money of 1,000,000$. The second runner-up was Bongofind, followed by the first runner-up, Social Pioneers.

The Grand Finale was graced by an honourable guest judge, a distinguished economist whose knowledge enlightens the path of economic development – Dr Munshi Naseer Ibne Afzal, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He helped the participants to align their ideas. He provided an economic perspective which could help them be more accessible in other competitions as well as the upcoming HULT rounds.

In addition to Dr Afzal, the event featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Md Emran Uddin, Advisor, Hult Prize at Metropolitan University; Mr Afsarul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration; and   Mr Ziaur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration.

The spectators included the Chairman of Metropolitan University, Mr Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Professor Dr Taher Billal Khalifa, Treasurer of Metropolitan University, Mr Dr Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Mr Syed Nakib Sadi, President, Hult Prize at Metropolitan University, Mr Emran Uddin, Advisor, Hult Prize at Metropolitan University, Mr Md Golam Mokta Dhir, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics, as well as Mr Chowdhury Mukammel Wahid, Professor, Department of CSE. Our Student Advisor, Mr Abir Rahman, was also there to spread enthusiasm for our finalists.
