Syeda Manzila Hossain, an alumna of Environmental Science and Management at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first IUBian to secure and successfully complete a remote internship at Saint Louis University (SLU), USA.

During her tenure in the Project Management Early Internship role, she served as a Project Lead, demonstrating strong leadership by managing weekly deliverables and collaborating with a diverse group of international colleagues. Her performance was outstanding, earning a score of 84 out of 100 in the one-month programme.

In recognition of her dedication and excellence, Saint Louis University awarded her a scholarship worth USD 500, redeemable towards higher studies at the institution. Selected from a competitive global applicant pool, the opportunity marked her first international professional platform. The internship concluded with a final presentation of her team’s month-long project to SLU management.

She credited her success to the unwavering support of her parents and the guidance of her mentors at IUB. She expressed sincere gratitude to her supervisor, Abdul Khaleque, for providing her with the opportunity to present her global internship experience at the university. She also thanked Anwarul Hoque Ansari for his cooperation and for sharing the application opportunity that initiated this journey, and Nishat Anjum for creating a one-minute video documenting her internship experience.

This accomplishment stands as a proud moment for the IUB community, reflecting the growing global presence and potential of its alumni.
