The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), in collaboration with the IEEE Photonics Society IUB Student Branch Chapter, the IEEE IUB Student Branch, and the Centre for Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics (CASSA), organised an academic seminar titled “Radio Astronomy and EEE” on 7 August 2025.

Dr Khan Muhammad Bin Asad, Principal Proposer of CASSA and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences, delivered the keynote address.

The seminar explored the intersection of electrical engineering and astrophysics, with particular focus on the role of EEE in advancing radio astronomy technologies.

The event attracted strong interest from students and faculty alike, reflecting the growing importance of interdisciplinary research in modern engineering education.

In his presentation, Dr Asad highlighted the practical applications of EEE in developing technologies for radio astronomy, including large-scale antenna systems and advanced data processing frameworks.
