An event titled “Radio Astronomy and EEE,” presented by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB).

The session was a joint effort by the IEEE Photonics Society’s IUB Student Branch Chapter and CASSA, held on Thursday, 7 August, 2025, between 1:00pm and 4:00pm in the DMK Lecture Gallery.

Dr. Khan Muhammad Bin Asad, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences and Director of CASSA, served as the keynote speaker. The event’s title and visuals, featuring a radio dish and the IEEE logo, emphasise the intersection of electrical engineering and astrophysics.

This collaboration highlights the university’s focus on interdisciplinary studies. The audience shows keen interest in the subject matter, suggesting the topic’s relevance to the students and faculty. The presentation likely explored the practical applications of EEE in creating the sophisticated technology required for radio astronomy, such as large-scale antenna systems and data processing. This initiative by IUB, through its various departments and student organizations, showcases a dedication to providing a well-rounded and forward-thinking educational experience.
