IUB wins best paper award at IEEE QPAIN 2025

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has won the Best Paper Award in the Poster Paper Presentation category at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Quantum Photonics, Artificial Intelligence, and Networking (QPAIN).
The conference, organised by the IEEE Photonics Society Bangladesh Chapter, was held from July 31 to August 2 at the Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology, Saidpur. The winning paper was authored by undergraduate students Hemal Sharma, Fardous Mahmud, and Anika Bushra, along with Research Scientist Tazrian Noor and Dr Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Head of EEE and Director of IUB Photonics Simulation Laboratory.
The research investigated the use of plasmonic metal nanoparticles coated with tin(II) fluoride to enhance the performance of lead-free perovskite solar cells. IUB was the sole winner in its category, competing against over 165 entries from 28 countries.
