Jagannath University announces roadmap for student union (Jnucsu) election

Jagannath University authorities have announced the roadmap for the central student union (Jnucsu) election, scheduled to be held on 27 November.
According to a press release issued by the university’s public relations office, the election commission will be formed on 8 October. Within 11 days of its formation, the commission will prepare and announce the election schedule.
In consultation with student organisations, journalist bodies and other stakeholders, the election commission will also formulate the Jnucsu election policy and code of conduct, prepare the draft and final voter lists, oversee submission and scrutiny of nominations, dispose of appeals (if any), publish the final list of candidates and supervise campaigning.
The university confirmed that voting and official results will be announced on 27 November, in line with its constitution and regulations.
Earlier, Jagannath University students staged a hunger strike demanding the activation of supplementary scholarships, announcement of the Jnucsu election roadmap and related reforms.
