The first event of the three-months-long Impact Project titled “Empowering Youth Through Freedom Education & Policy Action” was held yesterday (10 October) at Jahangirnagar University.

The event was hosted by Farzana Tayeeba, Department of Government and Politics; Niyaj Morshed, Department of International Relations; Arian Kabir, Department of International Relations; and Maksudur Rahman, Department of International Relations, with assistance from Saiful Islam Shanto, Department of International Relations.

It was an inspiring and knowledge-packed programme celebrating the ideas of freedom, leadership, and youth empowerment among university students. Around 60 students from various departments, including Government and Politics, International Relations, Economics, and Dramatics, among others, actively participated.

The event featured an engaging Quiz Competition on Liberty Principles, testing participants’ knowledge of liberal philosophy, freedom of expression, and leadership values in a lively and competitive atmosphere.

The top 5 winners received selected books. They gained valuable insights into the principles of liberty, leadership ethics, individual responsibility, and policy-oriented critical thinking.

The initiative was successfully inaugurated with essential materials and baseline survey data collection. This event marked the beginning of a broader roadmap featuring workshops on liberty, free markets, and policy analysis, debate competitions, and a policy hackathon aimed at empowering youth through education and practical engagement.

The event ended with a short Open Q&A, followed by a cheerful Photo Session and Networking, where students interacted and exchanged ideas in a friendly environment.
