JU finance and banking club

The Department of Finance & Banking at Jahangirnagar University has successfully elected the inaugural executive committee of its newly formed Finance & Banking Club.

Held on campus, the election saw active participation from all registered members, with 189 students casting their votes.

Md Hedeat Rahman from the 11th batch was elected president with 125 votes, defeating Md Zauwad Hossain of the 12th batch, who secured 64 votes.

In the race for the three vice president posts, Robiul Hossain was elected with 105 votes, followed by Md Mahbubul Hasab Joy with 84 votes and Muntasir Mahmud with 81 votes. Zounidul Islam Tamim, a strong contender, narrowly missed election with 79 votes.

Imam Hossain of the 12th batch was elected general secretary with 118 votes, overcoming Zahra Sezeen, who received 68 votes.

Sanjida Afrin Sumaiya won the post of assistant finance secretary with 102 votes, defeating Md Nafijul Islam Sourav, who received 86 votes.

Faisal Karim secured the role of organising secretary with a decisive 139 votes, the highest individual tally in the election. His competitors, Md Tajbid Ahmed and Afriya Jahan Sinha, received 27 and 17 votes respectively.

Following the announcement, newly elected President Md Hedeat Rahman and General Secretary Imam Hossain expressed their gratitude, stating, “We are immensely delighted by our victory. We thank everyone who supported us. We remain committed to upholding our promises and leading the club with vision and purpose.”

The election results were formally certified by Md Yousuf Harun, chairman of the Department of Finance & Banking.
