JU Higher Study Club hosts ‘Higher Study 360°–2025’ seminar

The Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club (JUHSC) organised its flagship event, “Higher Study 360°–2025” on 25 July at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan Auditorium.
The annual seminar provides students with comprehensive guidance on pursuing higher education abroad, covering everything from initial preparations to application strategies. This year’s event brought together more than 300 students from various academic backgrounds. Twenty-five Jahangirnagar University students who have recently secured international higher study opportunities were formally recognised during the programme.
Dr A.K.M. Rashidul Alam, Proctor of Jahangirnagar University, attended the event as chief guest. Also present were Mr Mehedi Hasan Dipu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems and Chief Advisor of JUHSC, and Mr Abu Sayem Rimon, Co-founder of the club.
The day-long programme featured interactive sessions on scholarship opportunities, including Erasmus Mundus and Commonwealth scholarships. Mr Sohel Iqbal from EducationUSA led a detailed session on the overseas application process and writing an effective Statement of Purpose (SoP), while IDP Bangladesh conducted an IELTS Masterclass.
Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar Shawon, President of JUHSC said, “The greatest barriers to pursuing higher education abroad are often the fear of dreaming big and the lack of accessible information. This programme aims to bridge that gap by equipping students with clear direction and motivation.”
Since its inception, JUHSC has supported students aspiring to study abroad through seminars, preparatory workshops for IELTS and GRE, and guidance on scholarships and university applications. The club continues to serve as a vital platform in helping students realise their international academic goals.
