Just hosts central iftar to celebrate unity during Ramadan
Jashore University of Science and Technology (Just) hosted a central Iftar gathering on campus, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a spirit of unity during the holy month of Ramadan.
The university’s open field transformed into a lively yet peaceful setting as hundreds of participants shared the Iftar meal together. The event fostered a strong sense of community, extending beyond classrooms and offices.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdul Mazid and Treasurer Professor Dr Hossain Al Mamun attended the gathering, exchanging greetings with students and staff. Their presence highlighted the administration’s commitment to creating a connected and inclusive campus environment.
As the call to prayer approached, participants broke their fast with dates, fruits, and traditional Ramadan dishes, sharing conversations and smiles across groups. Many students said the event felt more like a collective celebration of togetherness than just an Iftar.
For students living away from home, the gathering provided a comforting reminder of the communal spirit of Ramadan. Sitting under the open sky with friends and teachers, the evening carried warmth and fellowship.
The central Iftar not only offered a moment of spiritual reflection but also strengthened bonds within the JUST community, turning an ordinary campus evening into a memorable experience.
