The Student Counselling and Guidance Office of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST), in collaboration with the JUST Research Society, has inaugurated a three-day training seminar titled “How to Start IELTS Preparation” under the university’s flagship skill development initiative, “Tumii Parbe”.
The inaugural session, held on Sunday at 2:00pm at Professor Md Sharif Hossain Gallery, was moderated by Assistant Student Counsellor Md Sabbir Hossain and formally opened by the Director of the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, Dr Md Rafiul Hasan. Professor Dr Md Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor of JUST, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The first day of the seminar featured three interactive segments focused on the Writing module of the IELTS exam. Notably, over 1,400 students actively participated in the sessions, reflecting high enthusiasm for international higher education opportunities.
Serving as the lead trainer for the programme was Syed Anwar, a distinguished alumnus of the Industrial and Production Engineering Department at JUST and currently a Master’s student in Japan under the prestigious MEXT Scholarship.
The seminar will continue with sessions on Listening and Reading scheduled for 18 and 19 August respectively. The Speaking module will be conducted in a subsequent online session to ensure wider accessibility.
The event is part of JUST’s ongoing efforts to enhance student competitiveness in global academic and professional arenas by providing access to practical, expert-led guidance on international standardised tests like IELTS.
