The NSU Finance Club has announced the fifth edition of its flagship Excel-based business competition, Excelsior 2025.

Launched in 2018 and expanded nationally in 2021, Excelsior has emerged as a rigorous platform for students to demonstrate skills in financial modelling, data analysis, and strategic problem-solving. In previous years, the competition attracted more than 1,000 participants and offered a prize pool exceeding Tk1.8 lakh.

This year, IDLC Finance PLC has partnered as the title sponsor, with Shawarma Damasco as co-sponsor and LankaBangla Securities Ltd as strategic partner. The Business Standard is supporting the event as media partner.

Excelsior 2025 will begin with a foundational workshop on 6 August, covering Excel basics and competition guidelines. The first round will be held on 7 August to assess participants’ core Excel competencies. An advanced workshop is scheduled for 10 August, followed by the second round on 11 August, where the top 10 finalists will be shortlisted. The grand finale will take place offline at North South University on 14 August.

The competition will offer a total prize pool of Tk50,000. The champion will receive Tk25,000, the first runner-up Tk15,000, and the second runner-up Tk10,000. In addition, the top three teams will be offered internship opportunities at IDLC Finance PLC. All top 10 finalists will receive certificates issued by the Department of Accounting and Finance, North South University.
