RMSTU students pitch social venture ideas at Hult Prize finale

Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU) hosted the Hult Prize Grand Finale 2025–26 for the first time, marking a milestone in the university’s engagement with youth-led innovation and social entrepreneurship.

The competition was organised under the leadership of Md Elias, Campus Director, with Fahim Hossen as adviser, bringing together student entrepreneurs presenting ideas aimed at addressing real-world challenges through sustainable business models.

A total of 66 teams participated in the initial round. Following a screening process, 12 teams advanced to the semi-finals, with six teams reaching the grand finale.

After the final pitching session, evaluated by a panel of judges, Team D’Artagnan won the champion title. The team comprised Md Sakibul Islam, Anindita Chakma, Jannatul Ferdose Atose, and Thahsin Shahriar Ovi.

The champion team received a cash prize of Tk4,000, along with a two-night, three-day stay at Neeshorgo Hotel, Cox’s Bazar, in a Deluxe Premier Suite. The prize package included buffet breakfast, access to the swimming pool and gym, welcome drinks, Wi-Fi, car parking, and a candlelight dinner.

The first runner-up, Local Stay, received Tk3,000, while the second runner-up, Econexus, received Tk2,000.

Organisers said the event reflected RMSTU’s growing participation in international entrepreneurship platforms, encouraging students to develop ideas into ventures with potential social impact.
