The Photographic Society of RUET (PSR) recently organised “Vivid Season V – An Intra RUET Photography Exhibition,” showcasing a curated selection of student photography at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET).

The exhibition, which took place beside the Administration Building from 23 to 25 July, was open to students from the 2018–2019 (19 Series) to 2024–2025 (24 Series) academic sessions. Each participant was allowed to submit up to five photographs, of which the best were selected for display.

Following a month of online planning and preparation, the venue was transformed into a gallery-like space, featuring distinctive installations and creative displays of selected photographs. The event provided a platform for students to share their perspectives and visual storytelling through photography.

On the opening evening, RUET Vice-Chancellor Dr S M Abdur Razzak and DSW Dr Md Rabiul Islam Sarker attended the exhibition and engaged with student photographers about the stories behind their works.

Adding to the cultural experience, an acoustic night was held in collaboration with Onuronon–RUET cultural club. The evening featured poetry recitations and live music performances, creating a vibrant and artistic atmosphere for attendees.

The exhibition remained open throughout the next day, allowing more visitors to explore the artwork. In the evening, prize money totalling Tk15,000 was awarded to the top three photographers. Judging was conducted by Rifat Iqbal, renowned for wildlife photography, and Enamel Kabir, a specialist in mobile photography.

PSR expressed appreciation to its event partners. Fatik Jol joined as the refreshment partner, The Business Standard supported as the print and online media partner, and TBS Graduates partnered in youth engagement.
