SAU Saptok

Cultural organisation Saptok from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has achieved remarkable success at the BUP Folk and Cultural Fest 2025, hosted by the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Cultural Forum. Among 16 participating universities, Saptok secured the highest number of awards – four in total, emerging as the most awarded team at the festival.

Held from 8 to 10 July, the festival featured competitions in eight categories, including folk song (palli geeti and spiritual), folk dance, drama, poetry recitation, art, Nazrul songs, and Rabindra Sangeet. Saptok participated in nearly all segments and earned accolades in four—first place in folk song (palli geeti), third place in spiritual song, first place in poetry recitation, and third place in drama.

In recognition of their achievements, the executive members of Saptok paid a courtesy visit to the SAU administration and posed for commemorative photographs. During the visit, Md Nour Islam Nayeem, General Secretary of Saptok, expressed the organisation’s ambition to host a national-level cultural festival in the near future.

In response, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor assured the team of his continued support, stating, “We are always with Saptok in such commendable initiatives. Compared to previous times, students have enjoyed more events in recent months. We will continue to support them in similar initiatives going forward.”

Saptok’s performance stands as a testament to SAU’s growing cultural presence and its students’ unwavering commitment to creative excellence.
