The second phase of final applications for the undergraduate (Honours) first-year admission test at Rajshahi University (RU) for the 2024-25 academic session begins today (18 February) at 12:00pm.
This phase of applications has been initiated as the allocated quotas for the units were not fully filled in the first phase.
The first phase of final applications concluded on 15 February at midnight, with a total of 195,451 applications submitted across three units. According to Professor Md Saiful Islam, Director of the ICT Centre at RU, ‘A’ unit received 70,771 applications, ‘B’ unit received 40,592, and ‘C’ unit received 84,138 applications.
Each unit will allow 92,000 students to sit for the admission test, providing a total of 276,000 seats across all three units. The final applications will be accepted in three phases. Applicants selected for any phase must complete the application process within the specified time; no additional opportunities will be given later.
Since the quota for each unit was not filled, the second phase of applications will continue from 18 to 20 February, followed by the third phase from 23 to 24 February. The preliminary application results were published on 11 February.
The minimum GPA requirements for final applicants in the first phase are as follows:
‘A’ Unit: Science – 4.67, Humanities – 4.50, Business Studies – 4.29
‘C’ Unit: Science – 4.69, Humanities – 5.00, Business Studies – 5.00
The admission tests will begin on 12 April with the ‘B’ unit (Business Studies), followed by the ‘A’ unit (Humanities) on 19 April and the ‘C’ unit (Science) on 26 April. The tests will be multiple-choice, comprising 80 questions worth 100 marks, with a one-hour time limit. One mark will be deducted for every four incorrect answers.
