Stamford University Bangladesh held its Convocation 2025 on Saturday, 22 November, at Expo Village, Bashundhara International Convention Centre, celebrating academic excellence and the achievements of its latest graduating cohort.

Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning, praised the university for its contribution to expanding higher education and nurturing the country’s future leadership.

“This institution has played a significant role in shaping the country’s future leaders by ensuring the spread of higher education across generations,” he said.

Convocation speaker, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Environment, Forest and Climate Change, underscored the importance of applying acquired knowledge with integrity and empathy. She said convocation represents not an end, but recognition of perseverance and intellectual pursuit, calling it “a bridge between the academic world and the broader landscape of real-life responsibilities”.

In their congratulatory remarks, Professor Dr Farhanaaz Feroz, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Dr Younus Mia, Acting Vice-Chancellor, extended their best wishes to the graduates. Registrar, Muhammad Abdul Matin, delivered the vote of thanks.

This year, 1,407 graduates received degrees from five faculties and fourteen departments. Ten graduates were awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, while thirty received the Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal for outstanding academic achievements.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, faculty members, senior government and private-sector officials, vice-chancellors and governing body members from various universities, intellectuals, and media representatives.
